D4D Technologies has introduced its comprehensive E4D Labworks™ restoratives system, which encompasses a hand–held laser scanner capable of scanning any model material or impression material without the need for a contrast agent (powder) or special materials. Once imaged, the proprietary DentaLogic™ software creates a virtual true 3D model and restoration proposal, using intuitive design tools along with the system's Autogenesis™ design process. E4D Clone™ can replicate diagnostic wax–ups, models of approved provisionals, or the pre–operative situation and provide a one–click solution to restorative success. Once the design is finalized, ideal sprue position can be determined anywhere (360°) along the height of contour, and in minutes the restoration can be milled in the E4D Mill.
A large, full screen display and two–handed navigation (mouse and E4D Skyball™) combined with the easy–to–use DentaLogic software, provides efficiency and ease of use for all design applications.
E4D Labworks is capable of designing and milling inlays, onlays, veneers and full coverage restorations from a variety of metal–free choices, including IPS e.max CAD (Ivoclar Vivadent).
The precision of the E4D Mill allows fabrication of all inlays, onlays, veneers, and full–coverage restorations, including IPS e.max CAD thin veneers (@ 150 microns). Material choices from Ivoclar Vivadent and 3M ESPE — composite (Paradigm MZ100), acrylic (BOB™ burn–out block) leucite–reinforced glass ceramic (IPS Empress CAD, Paradigm C) or lithium disilicate (IPS e.max CAD) single–unit restorations all can be fabricated using the E4D Labworks system. The Digital Skyway... communication between clinicians and laboratories with the E4D Dentist or E4D Labworks will be effortless with the introduction in 2010 of the E4D Sky™ Network that will allow delivery of data and interactive communications amongst all dental professionals. Additionally, the introduction of a full desktop scanner (models and impressions) and bridgework software that will complement the E4D Labworks system is planned for 2010.
